A Bit About Me
I truly think working in mental health is the most rewarding field there can be. Starting right out of high school, I secured a job working as a Mental Health Technician in a locked psych unit at a local hospital and never looked back. At that hospital I ended up becoming the project coordinator of their Management of Aggressive Behavior Training Program as well as helping the development and implementation of their Behavioral Support Team (BST), which is an early response team to escalating patient behavior with the goal to de-escalate and avoid an Involuntary Emergency Procedure.
Since that position, I moved to working for the Department of Mental Health in a High Security Psychiatric Hospital caring for both long term and forensic psychiatric patients. It was at this hospital that I saw how much work Mental Health needs improve in America. I want to do everything in my power to make the mental health system reach its full potential.
Currently I work at a well known Level 1 Trauma Center in their Psychiatric Emergency Program assisting in the development of a new expansion for behavioral health. There I am helping train staff in de-escalation with hopes to avoid or come out of a crisis. I also teach self defense and physical interventions if de-escalation was unsuccessful to help protect themselves and others.

Personal Life
My wife and I first met while we were working at a local hospital. She was a Security Officer and myself a Mental Health Technician working together in the Emergency Psych Unit. She transitioned over to working in Mental Health fully and is now studying to be a School Psychologist. We live with our two dogs (Piper and Stella) in an apartment in a small populated city in New England. With respect to our positions, we are no stranger to the struggles of mental illness.
Since 4th grade I was given the diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder with ADHD, but never ended up seeking treatment until I was 18 in fear of the consequences. Unfortunately, that is all too common. Some things I like in life include the Outdoors, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Skiing, and Mountain Biking. Weird fact, I was actually a Wilderness Instructor at a Summer Camp for 3 Years! I was also an Alpine Ski Patroller for 6 years.
